I love books on philosophy and life choices. Thus far, meditation is far from effortless for me, but I continue to be fascinated by those cultures where it is widely practiced. Well written in an approachable style.
I like a book that makes you think, and this one definitely does. It's teaching on meditation isn't quite as rigid as you might imagine, and there is a lot of discussion of philosophy and Hindu teachings. A very interesting and thought-provoking read.
Liked the interesting stories that accompanied the exercises. More of a spiritual reflection on your life.
I have read a lot books on meditation and spirituality , and these little inexpensive books by SRI VISHWANATH tops them all , easy to understand and very inspiring. inspiration is hard to come by, but you sure know it when it's there , and these collection of books by this author helps to bring that inspiration to the surface )
Sri goes beyond just meditation....in a very good way.

If you've tried meditation before (like I have) and just didn't get much out of it. I would recommend this book. Although he does get overly deep in a couple chapter in the middle of the book, he has given me a much clearer understanding and purpose for meditation that is easy to do.
Meditation is the art of doing something over and over with a sense of calm and clarity. This book will teach you have to meditate with great success. You can sit as most people do to be in a position of power. This means that you are ready to meditate and you have no distractions. Once you are in your position of your choice your eyes closed your mind will begin to rattle all sorts of things and this is where you relax even if you have to say "relax" over and over in your head. As you sit and relax you will become aware of what is around you but just keep your eyes closed and breathe calmly and deeply. It can take ten minutes to get ready to stay calm. Then begin with your mantra of your choice, I use "olm, olm." The rest will be revealed to you in the book and it did help me so I know you will love it if you are a beginner. I wanted to read this book to find out what others teach.
There have been many books written about meditation and most of them take what should be a simple topic and complicate it beyond belief. In this little book, Sri Vishwanath's explanation takes what seems like a complicated topic and simplifies it, so that most readers could understand the power inherent in meditation. What is more, it provides simple practical tips so that even a beginner could start a rewarding exercise in meditation.
